Environmentally Friendly Recycling Processes
We ensure that everything we collect is recycled. The usual glass, tin, plastics, paper and cardboard as standard but all the other waste is burnt at the CERC, (Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre).
On top of the standard recycling processes, the waste burned at the CERC produces steam used to turn turbines for electricity that is sold to the National Grid. The ash produced by the burned waste is then sifted to separate recyclable metals, and any leftover ash is used as a base for the production of new roads.
This way we can guarantee that zero waste goes to landfill and you can rest easy knowing you’re doing your bit for the environment.
